Breeding Dragonflies

Why do humans display so much genetic variance in appearance whilst other animals don't seem to?
For example, there are two dogs, of the same breed and with the same coloured fur. Why then o both dogs appear very similar?
Going further, differences are harder to spot between invertebrates. How would it even be possible to distinguish between ants in a colony or jellyfish, dragonflies etc?
Yes smartass, but humans are mammals, as are dogs and other primates. OK then, although we may be able to tell the difference between different chimpanzees in the wild, why is appearance so similar between every member of the community?
We can see differences in what we are familar with. People of european descent who live in a place that is predominantly "white"are able to tell the differences between white people easily, but not easily in people who are black or asian. People who are say Korean, lving in Korea get upset with people not able to tell the difference between Koreans, Chinese and Japanese (as a couple of Koreans have told me!....in the same vein, koreans who live in asian communities find it hard to tell white people apart, but if you lived in Korea for a while you would start to be able to find the differences in people more easily than you would if you did not live there.
THe same thing happens with people looking at animals, if you lived in a dog community, you would be able to tell the differnces more easily. If you were a farmer of sheep, you should after a while be able to tell the differnces between many members of your herd as you get used to them.
Humans are very VISUAL and look for differences to tell people apart. As we are used to people we focus on the differences in faces in particular, even though we are actually quite similar to each other. Other animals tend to be more stong with SMELL which is why they mark territories or sniff each other to help identify them (which is why they have larger noses than we do) , so smell is often more important to them than visual differences.
